Abstract
This presentation aims to present a small-scale exploratory study concerning the reception of Subtitles for Deaf and Hard of hearing (SDH) compared to easy-tounderstand subtitles in immersive contexts. The study aims to identify if simplified subtitles can provide an improved experience by making the audiovisual content easier to read and understand for all. The purpose is to determine the user experience (UX) of both subtitling modalities in terms of user immersion and preferences. The used framework, developed by Belen & Montagut (2018) has been adapted to evaluate the perception of easy-to-understand subtitles compared to SDH subtitles.
