Margarita Melnikova, a blind linguist and translator, created a web-based project "Describe It to Me" (http://xn----jtbhavgci6f.xn--p1ai/). Its purpose is to give the blind and visually impaired people an opportunity to understand what a certain object, image, or event look like. They can contact the project staff and send them an image (i.e. something found in the internet), video, etc., and volunteers will describe it. Besides, volunteers also send their description of interesting images or videos they have found themselves. The project contains a library of described images and videos.
