Parameters for the subtitling of deaf and hard of hearing (SDH) in Brazil and Portugal. A comparative study

This project consists of a postdoctoral research to be developed at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança. The research objectives are: to observe how the SDH parameters in Brazil and Portugal converge and/or diverge; to analyze the SDH of a movie/TV show subtitled in Portugal and Brazil, observing similarities and differences between the subtitling parameters in the two countries; to interview SDH professionals in Portugal and Brazil, in order to understand how the subtitling process takes place in both countries; to monitor how the subtitling process (SDH) of films/TV shows takes place in Portugal and Brazil.
