This paper aims to make a significant contribution to the field of didactic audiovisual translation (DAT) and audiovisual translation in general by presenting the results of the first exploratory study of the pedagogical potential of DAT in healthcare. More specifically, it reports on empirical evidence from future speech therapists concerning their perceptions of the use of DAT in clinical and educational settings. Following a didactic intervention, participants completed a survey that confirmed the potential of DAT in this field.
