Abstract
EASIT aims to define the professional profile of the expert on Easy-to-read. Easy-to-read is an access service that creates or adapts texts so that they are easier to read and understand by all users. Although Easy-to-read originally focused on printed texts, EASIT will expand the focus to audiovisual content and will consider the hybridization of Easy-to-read with existing access services such as audio description (in which visuals are translated into words, especially for those who cannot access the images) or subtitling (which address those who cannot understand the language or cannot hear the original audio).
EASIT will map current practices through a survey and a series of interviews, and will then propose a skills card and a curriculum to train professionals. It will focus on two different profiles: Easy-to-read experts, but also experts in other access services such as audio description or subtitling who want to expand their skills. EASIT will generate multilingual open-access educational content, so that it can be easily integrated in different learning environments.
