Abstract
This paper analyses the scripts written by Quentin Tarantino for his movies. The main aim in so doing is to identify those features which, at various levels, provide an intertextual web among these texts. Looking contrastively at the originals and the translations into Italian, it was found that the choices made, though often functional within the turn or movie, do not take into consideration these intertextual links: recurrences of the same elements in the originals are seldom preserved in the dubbed versions. We argue that, when translating a movie, it is crucial to respect not only its internal, but also its external consistency, by making sure that it is first of all coherent with the macro-context formed by the author's other works.
