Shadow speaking for real-time closed-captioning of TV broadcasts in French

Pierre Dumouchel and other researchers from the Centre de recherche informatique de Montréal (CRIM) were asked to contribute to the volume in order to offer an overview of their experience in the challenging task of offering subtitles in real time. Their experience in shadow speaking for real-time closed-captioning of TV broadcasts in French is described in their contribution. This new approach offers an innovative field of research in SDH, that of using speech recognition for live closed-captioning, describing the solutions implemented to the problems found.
