Description has been given of the methodology utilized in the collection of a multimodal corpus of three American feature films, as well as the initial results of cursory comparative analysis between the source discourse and its translation in the form of subtitles. Some technical difficulties incurred during subtitling are discussed, such as temporal / spatial constraints and finding the closest translation equivalence.
