Traducción subordinada (II). El subtitulado (inglés - español - gallego)

This book is organized in two sections and is monographic on subtitling. Within the first section we find an article which offers a panoramic history of the history of subtitling in Spain, another article analyzes the characteristic features of subtitling, the third and final contributions focus on the technical aspects of subtitling. The second section contains one article which analyzes the many translation strategies for explicit sexual content and vocabulary from English into Spanish, another article studies the reception of Woody Allen's humour into Spanish, an article on the textual strategies to create a text which will be translated into subtitles, an analysis on cultural references, and two articles -which complete the monograph- on the creation of subtitles in the same language for different purposes: as a teaching aid and for the deaf. The book also contains a bibliography of the latest publications -2000-01- on this specific field.
