Análisis comparativo de la audiodescripción española y alemana de "Goodbye, Lenin"

This article presents an analysis of the Spanish and German audio descriptions of a film with strong cultural connotations, Good-bye Lenin. This analysis allows us not only to show the various approaches taken towards this practice in different countries but also to demonstrate how the same images are conveyed differently by audio describers who do not share a common cultural background. In the first part of the analysis special attention is paid to the treatment of visual cultural references in the film, but other issues —information provided and space available, description of feelings and emotions, and adjectives— are also taken into account.
