Abstract
This article focuses on the foreign-language films, especially Spanish-language films, made in Hollywood after sound was incorporated. According to the author, there were three kinds of films: Spanish-language versions produced with their American originals, Spanish sound remakes of silent films, and films produced in Spanish only. The article gives the reasons why the Spanish-language market was so big and, after that, it provides a filmography of more than 100 examples of Spanish-language films made in the period between 1929 and 1935.
